FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition based on a dialkyltin oxide, such as dibutyltin oxide, which can be used as a reesterification catalyst in synthesis of (meth)acrylic esters. Disclosed is a catalyst composition in the form of a solution, which is stable over time at room temperature, for reesterification, containing the following, with respect to 100% of the whole composition: 5-75% dialkyltin oxide, wherein the alkyl chain, linear or branched, contains 1-8 carbon atoms, 10-80% alcohol R1OH (I), wherein R1 can represent an alkyl radical, linear or branched, or an aliphatic cyclic radical, an aryl, an alkylaryl or arylalkyl, containing 4-40 carbon atoms, or an alkyl radical, linear or branched, containing at least one heteroatom and 3-40 carbon atoms, 10-80% light alkyl(meth)acrylate (II), wherein the alkyl chain, linear or branched, contains 1-4 carbon atoms, 0-75% (meth)acrylic ester (III), containing a radical which can represent an alkyl radical, linear or branched, or an aliphatic cyclic radical, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl, containing 4-40 carbon atoms, or an alkyl radical, linear or branched, containing at least one heteroatom and 3-40 carbon atoms, wherein the compound (III) is a (meth)acrylic ester formed during a reesterification reaction. Also disclosed are uses of the composition and a method for synthesis of (meth)acrylic esters.
