DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR FUNCTIONAL STATE OF KIDNEY PARENCHYMA IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2702149 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to urology and nephrology, and can be used for diagnosing functional state of kidney parenchyma in children. Ultrasonic examination is carried out using colored Doppler mapping with preliminary triple dosed water load for 120, 60 and 20 minutes before the beginning of the study per os in amount of 10 ml/kg of weight, but not more than 300 ml for a single dose. If observing the first ureteral ejection (UE) in vesicoureteral junction 20–30 minutes after the last water load, the normal functional state of the kidney parenchyma is diagnosed. If observing the first and subsequent UE within 30 minutes to 60 minutes after the last water load, the functional state of the kidney parenchyma is reduced. In the absence of UE within 30–60 minutes after the last water load, a non-functioning kidney is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method is highly informative, does not depend on kidney tissue tropism to radiopharmaceutical, is safe, can be applied on an ambulatory basis in children since birth, allows avoiding false-negative result in case of non-functioning kidney.
