DETECTION OF HANDWRITTEN FRAGMENT SELECTION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G06F17/24 G06F3/484 G06F3/354

Abstract RU 2702270 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of processing handwritten fragment information, a computing device and a machine-readable medium. Method of processing handwritten fragment information comprises steps of: receiving first stroke of handwritten fragment; determining whether the received first stroke of the handwritten fragment is a closed loop; when the accepted stroke of the handwritten fragment is a closed contour, one or more further strokes of the handwritten fragment are detected, enclosed within the received stroke of the handwritten fragment; switching to half-selection mode in response to one or more further handwritten fragments detected in the received handwritten fragment, which is a closed loop; wherein, when the next action is directed to said one or more handwritten fragment strokes, the stroke of the handwritten fragment, which is a closed loop, is processed by the computing device as a selection of said further strokes of the handwritten fragment, when the next action is directed to a display area other than the area displaying said one or more handwritten fragment strokes, the stroke of the handwritten fragment being a closed loop is processed by the computing device as a written handwritten fragment; and in case of selection of detected one or more handwritten fragment strokes based on subsequent user action on computing device, when one or more light strokes gestures are performed on another handwriting fragment not selected, the closed loop is expanded to include both the previously made selection, and the sentence, contour or word containing that other stroke of the handwritten fragment, which is not part of available handwritten fragment strokes.

EFFECT: providing switching functionality of a computing device between a handwriting fragment mode and a handwriting fragment selection mode.
