FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear reactor (1), in particular to a reactor with liquid metal cooling. Reactor comprises separating structure (5) between hot collector (6) and cold header (7), narrowing on upper section (16) for arrangement of manifolds of fuel assemblies and expanding in lower element (14) at active part (4) of reactor core. Between lower element (14) and upper element (16) there is connecting element (15) having a variable shape. Heat exchangers (11) are located between upper section (16) of said separating structure (5) and housing (2) of reactor, interacting with connecting element (15) through vertical channels (20) for supply of hot primary fluid medium exiting from core (4) of reactor.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of safety due to reduction of structural complexity of zone of change of direction of fluid medium to reverse and elimination of risk of gas cushion involvement, as well as the absence of the need to sequentially increase the diameter of the reactor housing, which includes all components of the primary system.
