SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power, in particular to ensuring the safety of nuclear reactors (NR), primarily NR integral type with a heavy liquid metal coolant. The nuclear reactor contains a reactor vessel with a lower chamber, an active zone, a hot chamber, an upper chamber and heat exchangers. The hot chamber is located above the core and contains a substantially cylindrical body with branch pipes for removing the hot coolant flowing from the core to heat exchangers, and a plug. The hot chamber housing contains an inner shell and at least one additional shell installed with a gap outside and concentrically with the inner shell and forming at least one cooling channel. Each branch pipe contains an inner shell of the branch pipe and at least one additional shell of the branch pipe installed with a gap outside and concentric with the inner shell of the branch pipe and forming at least one cooling channel of the branch pipe.

EFFECT: reducing the thermal load on the elements of the hot chamber, primarily the body of the hot chamber and the branch pipes for the removal of the hot coolant, including smoothing and reducing the temperature gradient arising in these elements, and, as a consequence, increasing their service life.
