FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a curable film-forming composition, methods of controlling rate of hardening and increasing time of overlapping of curable film-forming compositions. Curable film-forming composition includes: (a) a curing agent containing reactive isocyanate functional groups, (b) a film-forming compound containing functional groups reactive with reactive isocyanate functional groups in (a), (c) a photolatent catalyst, (d) beta-diketone with a flash point higher than 60 °C (140 °F) and (e) beta-diketone with a flash point less than or equal to 60 °C (140 °F). Method of controlling rate of hardening and longer time for overlapping curable film-forming composition is achieved by adding to curable composition catalytic component, which includes: (i) a photolatent catalyst, (ii) beta-diketone with a flash point higher than 60 °C (140 °F), and (iii) beta-diketone with a flash point less than or equal to 60 °C (140 °F).
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a curable film-forming composition which has good controlled viability, fast curing with considerable drying time, as well as high gloss and low haze in the overspray region.
