FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas turbine engine housing. Technical result is achieved by housing of gas turbine engine, which is made of composite material containing reinforcing material, compacted by matrix, and has shape of body of revolution. At that, it comprises part (17) representing stiffness element and passing with radius exceeding radius of body parts (18, 19) located in front and behind in flow direction, which are adjacent to specified part (17), which is stiffness element, to form annular recess (171) on inner surface (11) of housing (10). Body includes retaining zone (16) having a thickness that is greater than the thickness of the rest of body (10). At that, said part (17), which is a stiffness element, is located outside of retaining zone (16).
EFFECT: technical result is higher rigidity of housing without significant increase in size and weight.
