FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fire protection of a crankcase of a gas turbine. Crankcase comprises cylindrical body (10), the main direction of which extends along the longitudinal axis (X), and inlet flange (20) radially relative to longitudinal axis (X) from the inlet end of body (10). Fan crankcase (1) is made of a composite material containing fibrous reinforcement packed with a matrix, wherein said matrix is polymerized. Protective layer is produced as follows. Lay (S1) on inlet radial side (22) of inlet flange (20), the panels containing glass fibers pre-impregnated with a resin capable of providing thermal protection to the crankcase of the fan against fire. Resin (S2) is polymerized to produce protective layer (2).
EFFECT: provided reliable and effective protection of the crankcase of the fan against extreme temperatures and fire.
