FIELD: motors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of gas turbine engines of aircrafts comprising parts made of a composite material comprising a bond matrix with reinforcing fibers. To provide protection against fire, the parts of a gas turbine engine made of a composite material containing basic reinforcing fibers bound by a base matrix, pre-mold the prepreg panel to form it corresponding to the shape of the surface of the fire-protected part, said prepreg panel comprising additional reinforcing fibers bound by an additional matrix. Pre-molded prepreg panel is then applied to the workpiece and the prepreg panel is fixed to the surface by heat treatment of the part with the specified prepreg panel mounted on it to create a flame retardant layer.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide a component of a gas turbine engine of a composite material with fire protection without reducing the mechanical strength of such a part.
