FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to radar ranging and radio navigation and is intended to determine estimates of location of mobile radio signal sources (RS) on a road network. Substance of invention consists in fact that at one measuring point, position of which is known, delayed arrival of electromagnetic waves is measured by signals emitted by RS at certain moments of time, known at measurement station. Measured delays are used to determine measured distances to RS r1mes, r2mes. Those elements of road network, which cross line of position corresponding to r1mes, or touch it. Parametric range models specified for said elements in function of natural parameter are used to determine values of natural parameter corresponding to points of intersection of position line for range r1mes and road network elements. For each of these elements values of distances corresponding to movement of the movable RS by the corresponding distance are calculated, and from the condition of minimum mismatch between them and the measured range r2mes number of road network elements on which a movable RS source can be located is determined. By parametric models of inclination angle of tangents to elements of road network specified in function of natural parameter, and values of natural parameter corresponding to intersection points of position line for measured range r1mes and road network elements, calculated values of inclination angles are determined for each element of road network. From condition of minimum mismatch between them and measured angle θmes number of road network elements on which RS can be located is determined. Comparison of these numbers with numbers obtained from the condition of minimum mismatch between calculated values of distances and re-measured range, determine the number of the element of the road network on which the movable RS is located. Coordinates of the position of the movable RS are determined as coordinates of the point of intersection of the position line corresponding to the measured range r1mes or r2mes an element of a road network on which a movable RS is located.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining coordinates of RS on a road network.
