FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the machine building. Method of making long nuts consists in the fact that two half-nuts are arranged on the screw, brought together in axial direction and rigidly fixed. At least two half-nuts are brought together by screwing until they are in full contact with preservation of free rotation of the screw, rigid fixation of half-nuts is carried out from the side of external ends of half-nuts for which screw rings are fitted on the screw. Compensating gasket is installed between at least one side between the half-nut and the pressure ring, on the annular surfaces of the hold-down rings, three tie-rods are fixed uniformly by means of fixing screws, then screw on both sides screw screws are screwed against their thrusts in hold-down rings, after which having turned off fixing screws, remove ties, perform welding of half-nuts and turning off sleeves, remove them from screw and clamping rings with compensating gasket, after which the produced long nut is twisted from the reference screw.

EFFECT: providing a long nut with specified parameters of internal thread and strength characteristics, to enable increase in rod travel in planetary roller screw mechanism.
