SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aluminium electrolytic cell. Electrolytic cell comprises a bath enclosure comprising a pair of longitudinal side walls, a pair of transverse end walls, a bottom wall and an open top with an upper edge, a transverse support frame including transverse lower beams located under the casing and extending across the sidewalls, each of the transverse lower beams having a pair of opposite ends, and deformable communication elements attached to the transverse support frame, each of which extends vertically along outer surface of one of side walls for application of inward force to said side wall, is made in form of semi-elliptical cantilever springs, each of which includes metal element, which lower end is attached to transverse support frame, and deformable upper free end is able to move inside and out in response to expansion and contraction of shell system. Disclosed also is a method of replacing electrolytic cells of an electrolysis series of aluminium electrolysis cells in a building of electrolysis and an electrolysis series of aluminium electrolysis cells.
EFFECT: higher efficiency without exceeding current density limit and reduced capital costs.
