FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: use: to compensate for measurement error of ultrasonic locator. Summary of invention consists in the fact that radiation and reception of ultrasonic waves at two frequencies with different periods, measurement of time intervals between emitted and received ultrasonic waves, determining the distance to the reflector by multiplying the ultrasonic propagation speed in the controlled medium during the propagation time thereof, with amplification of the received ultrasonic waves, the signal amplitude is set to be the same for both frequencies, and after measuring the time intervals between the emitted and received ultrasonic waves at two frequencies, the propagation time of the received ultrasonic waves is determined in accordance with the given formula, the obtained value is used when determining the distance to the reflector.
EFFECT: possibility of reducing measurement error during waveguide propagation of ultrasonic oscillations.
