FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device has an ultrasonic pulse generator connected to an emitter and series-connected receiver, amplifier, threshold device, time interval formation unit, control and display unit whose output is connected to the generator and the input of the time interval formation unit, a reference voltage source connected to the input of the threshold device. The device also has a crystal oscillator and a time interval measurement unit whose inputs are connected to the threshold device and to the crystal oscillator, and the output to the control and display unit. The reference voltage source is connected to the input of the control and display unit.
EFFECT: compensation for ultrasonic level gauge measurements caused by uncontrolled time interval between the onset of the echo pulse and operation of the threshold device.
