FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hardening an electrodeposited iron-chromium coating on steel components by carbonisation, used to repair surfaces of steel components. The method includes carbonising a layer of an iron-chromium coating containing 0.5-3.0% chromium for 3-4 hours at 800-900°C using a paste of the following composition, wt %: carbon black DG-100 - 40, barium carbonate BaCO3 - 20, polyvinyl acetate (PVA adhesive) - 40, and adding syntin at a rate of 20 drops per minute for the entire duration of carbonisation.
EFFECT: high microhardness and wear resistance of steel components repaired by the electrodeposited iron-chromium coating.
