Present invention discloses an electronic insulating device, such as a general-purpose insulator having insulation functions and possibility of performing a safety function and comprising insulator module (550), comprising an electrical connection of the input side and an electrical connection of the output side, configured to communicate with said input side connection using an insulator, and main module (500), wherein the insulator module is configured to physically/electrically connect and disengage from the main module in at least two orientations/positions relative to said main module, wherein said connections of the input side and the output side of the insulator module are configured to be operatively connected to the main module in the at least two orientations, wherein electrical connection of insulator module with main module in each of said at least two orientations/positions serves to adjust type/functionality of said insulating device.
