FIELD: test.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing and technical diagnostics of machines, in particular to a method of determining specific effective fuel flow of an engine in a mode of starting a machine from a place at rated load. Essence of the invention consists in the following. In preparing the machine, a fuel flow meter is installed on its engine for testing. Traction force is measured in machine start-up mode from the place at rated engine crankshaft rpm and hourly fuel consumption is additionally measured by means of fuel flow meter. Thereafter, the specific effective fuel consumption of the engine is calculated using a formula which takes into account the following parameters: hourly fuel consumption, transmission ratio of the transmission from the engine crankshaft to the drive wheels axis, mechanical efficiency of transmission, rated thrust of machine, rolling radius of drive wheels of machine, rated rpm of engine crankshaft.

EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of fast (within 3–5 minutes) determining specific effective fuel consumption of engine in machine starting mode.
