FIELD: transport engineering; testing methods. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of testing vehicles, mainly, tractors. Proposed method includes preparation of vehicle for testing, mounting fuel flow indicator and connecting vehicle to traction gear. Maximum value of hourly consumption of fuel is determined at starting from halt. After connection of vehicle to traction gear, resistance of traction gear is set to value exceeding considerably maximum possible drawbar pull of vehicle and sufficient adhesive force of vehicle running gear with base is provided. Then master clutch pedal is pressed on to disengage clutch. Gearshift lever is set in position corresponding to required speed. Fuel feed control lever is gradually shifted into extreme lower position (maximum fuel feed). Vehicle is started off, slowly releasing clutch pedal and checking stability of engine operation. Fuel consumption is continuously checked. As soon as unstable operation of engine is detected, testing at said gear is stopped and, by pressing on clutch pedal, clutch is completely disengaged Gearshift lever is set in neutral position and clutch pedal is released. Maximum value corresponding to hourly consumption of fuel at said speed is determined by readings of fuel flow indicator. If necessary, test is carried out against or fuel consumption is determined by checking vehicle with other gear shifted in. EFFECT: reduced labor input and consumption of materials for determining maximum value of hourly fuel consumption at pull tests. 1 dwg
