FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to high-strength dispersion-hardening nitrogen-containing corrosion-resistant austenitic steels used for making high-loaded structures in machine building, shipbuilding, aviation and railway transport. Steel contains carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, nitrogen, vanadium, iron and impurities at the following ratio, wt%: carbon 0.01–0.03, silicon 0.20–0.40, manganese 0.50–1.00, chrome 16.0–18.0, nickel 11.0–13.0, nitrogen 0.15–0.25, vanadium 0.8–1.2, iron and impurities – the rest. Content of carbon and nitrogen satisfy condition: [C]:[N]≤0.12. After quenching from 1200–1250 °C and subsequent aging at 650–700 °C has a structure of azotic austenite, hardened with dispersed particles of vanadium nitride with size of ~ 60 Å.
EFFECT: higher strength while maintaining high ductility and impact viscosity.
