FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering of polymer materials and relates to single-layer polypropylene films with improved optical mechanical properties. Films are produced by extrusion technology. Mixture contains: a) 85–98.0 wt. % per mixture of a random copolymer of propylene, where said random propylene copolymer consists of links derived from propylene and ethylene, and b) 2.0–15.0 wt. %, based on the mixture, an ethylene-based plastomer, whose density according to ISO 1183D is 0.915 g/cm3 or less, MFR2 value according to ISO 1133 (190 °C, 2.16 kg) is from 2.0 to 30 g/10 min, where amount (a) and (b) in total is 100 wt. %, wherein: turbidity of the film with thickness of 50 mcm according to ASTM D1003 is maximum 2.0 %, ii) luster (20°) of 50 mcm film according to ASTM D2457 is at least 80 % and iii) relative tear resistance of film with thickness of 50 mcm in longitudinal direction [cN/mcm] according to Elmendorf method (ISO 6383-2) is at least 0.70 cN/mcm and relative tear resistance of film with thickness of 50 mcm in transverse direction [cN/mcm] according to Elmendorf method (ISO 6383-2) is at least 1.80 cN/mcm.
EFFECT: invention provides a film having improved optical properties and improved mechanical properties, such as high strength and especially tear resistance.
