FIELD: rocket equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cast mixed rocket fuel based on an oxidizing agent – lithium and sodium perchlorate, an organic fuel binder – sorbitol and a combustion catalyst selected from a group: cyanide, cyanate or thiocyanate. Fuel contains a high-molecular weight thickener that is dissolved in a sorbitol melt, selected from the group: carboxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, gelatine, alginic acid, pectin, agar-agar, carageenan and starch, in amount of 2–5 wt% over stoichiometry of the mixture containing lithium or sodium perchlorate, sorbitol and a combustion catalyst. Composition has high adhesion to metal, and when hardening it forms elastic rubber-like fuel with maximum tensile strength of up to 300 %, having high energy, high burning rate, up to 53 mm/s at pressure of 53 atm in combustion chamber and has high pressure ratio of 0.6.
EFFECT: simple manufacturing technology makes it possible to produce low-cost powerful engines of end and channel combustion, at that, rubber-like properties in tightly closed container are preserved for more than three years.
