SUBSTANCE: invention relates to 2-substituted 5-hydroxypyrano[2,3-d][1,3]oxazine-4,7-diones, which can be used in medical industry, of general formula I

where R = phenyl, 4-methylphenyl, 4-bromophenyl, 4-nitrophenyl, 4-methoxyphenyl, 3-methoxyphenyl, styryl, furan-2-yl. Disclosed is a method of producing said compounds by reacting amides of corresponding carboxylic acids selected from benzamide, p-methylbenzamide, p-bromobenzamide, p-nitrobenzamide, p-methoxybenzamide, m-methoxybenzamide, styrylamide, furylamide, with malonyl chloride in molar ratio of 1:2 in an environment of an anhydrous polar organic solvent (tetrahydrofuran), stirring the reaction mass for 12–25 hours at room temperature, filtering the obtained residue.

EFFECT: disclosed are novel antibacterial compounds and a novel efficient method of producing said compounds.
