FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a selective hydrofining catalyst of an olefin-containing hydrocarbon feedstock. Method involves impregnating porous support in moisture capacity with solutions K2MoS4 and organic cobalt complexonate containing at least two oxygen atoms and at least two carbon atoms in an organic solvent. Content in calcined at 550 °C the catalyst contains the following components, in wt%: Mo 5–12, Co 0.5–4, K 3–10 and the rest is a carrier.
EFFECT: obtaining a selective catalyst having high hydrodesulphurisation (HDS) and low hydrogenating (HIDO) functions, which enables selective hydrofining of olefin-containing hydrocarbon raw material to obtain a product which satisfies requirements for commercial gasoline components with minimum loss of octane number.
