SUBSTANCE: container for consumer articles, at least partially formed from plate-like workpiece (100); Said plate-like workpiece forms a section of container that comprises: first flat wall (101); a second flat wall (102) connected to the first flat wall by a first modified edge portion (104); and a third flat wall (103) connected to the first flat wall by a second modified edge portion (105). First modified edge portion is formed by an ablation region on its inner surface containing one or more ablation lines (201–206), each of which has residual thickness less than thickness (T) of the plate-like workpiece; first modified edge section comprises end section narrowing from width (W) of first section to point at joint with second modified edge section. Second modified edge section is formed by multiple creasing lines (300).

EFFECT: disclosed is a vessel with non-square edges.
