FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for calibrating a helmet, in particular a helmet used by an aircraft pilot. Device includes memory, camera and mechanical drive, to which helmet is connected during calibration so that it can move relative to camera. Processor programmed to control the mechanical drive to move the helmet relative to the camera through a sequence of discrete points on the template of calibration targets and in each of discrete control points of the camera for obtaining a digital image is attached to the camera and the mechanical drive. For each of the images, the processor determines the position in the image of at least one of several reference marks and uses this position in the image of at least one reference mark together with the position of the mechanical drive for calibrating the helmet.
EFFECT: invention provides more accurate determination of helmet position.
