FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to visualization means. For this purpose, a device for visualization of a tree structure is proposed depending on the position of the pointing cursor relative to the rendered tree, in which the cursor position is used relative to the tree, in order to control which branches of the tree to unfold/collapse automatically. Reconfiguring tree view for compact representation without explicit deployment/folding operations. Tree view is generated (11). Determining (14) position of cursor relative to view, consisting of first and second position values in accordance with first and second directions. Branch with which the cursor position is aligned in accordance with the first direction is automatically selected (15) as the active branch. Sublevels of the branch to be unfolded are determined (16) depending on the second position value relative to labels of sublevels, and the tree view is automatically updated.
EFFECT: technical result is faster navigation on the rendered tree structure.
