FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used in production of all-metal parts of pipeline valves, for example, large-size semi-cases of ball valves. Initial workpiece in form of shell with outer diameter equal to 0.80÷0.85 of forged piece maximum diameter in hemisphere zone, and with thickness equal to 1.12÷1.15 of forging wall thickness in hemisphere zone is heated. Then workpiece is squeezed with formation of neck and subsequent distribution with formation of hemisphere. At that, workpiece is thickened to form neck and to be thinned when hemisphere is formed.
EFFECT: higher manufacturability, reduced time for heating of workpiece and reduced forging force.
