SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to experimental medicine, and can be used to create animal models for the study of dry keratoconjunctivitis. Method for inducing dry keratoconjunctivitis in an animal related to rodents involves administering scopolamine and benzalkonium chloride to said animal, thereby inducing dry keratoconjunctivitis, characterized by reduced production of lachrymal fluid, increased irritation of mucous membrane of eye and increased angiogenesis and/or lymphangiogenesis in eye. Method for testing the effectiveness of a candidate agent for treating dry keratoconjunctivitis involves administering scopolamine and benzalkonium chloride for inducing dry keratoconjunctivitis and administering said candidate agent.

EFFECT: use of inventions allows simulating dry keratoconjunctivitis on rodents, characterized by pathological changes characteristic of dry keratoconjunctivitis in humans due to synergistic effect of scopolamine and benzalkonium chloride.
