FIELD: medicine; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: first invention of a group is an artificial tear emulsion, which is a submicron emulsion, wherein the emulsion has the following composition: 0.5 % wt./wt. of polysorbate 80; 0.5 % wt./wt. of sodium carboxymethylcellulose; 1.0 % wt./wt. of glycerin; 0.6 % wt./wt. of boric acid; 0.1 % wt./wt. of Pemulen, which is carbomer-copolymer of type A; 0.25 % wt./wt. of castor oil; 0.25 % wt./wt. of erythritol; 0.25 % wt./wt. of levocarnitine; sodium hydroxide for bringing pH to 7.3; water, and optionally 0.01 % wt./wt. of Purite, which is stabilized oxychlorocomplex. The emulsion does not preferably contain a preservative. The second invention of the group is a method for the treatment of a “dry eye” syndrome, including the administration of the specified emulsion.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides for prolongation of time of tear film breaking, increase in the efficiency relatively to the treatment of a “dry eye” syndrome, and reduction in the rate of side effects.
