FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to radiation therapy or radiotherapy, namely to systems and methods for three-dimensional tracking of a tumour for use in developing a plan for radiotherapeutic treatment to be used during radiotherapy. Method of localizing and tracking movable three-dimensional (3D) target in a patient undergoing a radiation therapy course with image control involves the following steps: (a) receiving an adaptive filter model for an area of interest in a patient, wherein the adaptive filter model is based on the target to be monitored; (b) obtaining, by an image acquisition device, two-dimensional (2D) section of an area of interest in a patient; (c) applying an adaptive filter model to 2D slice by a processor, wherein the adaptive filter model includes an offset value; (d) determining, by the processor, the target location in 2D slice based on the adaptive filter model; (e) evaluating, by the processor, the potential location of the target based on the offset value; and repeating, by means of a processor, steps (b) - (e) to track a mobile target during radiation therapy of a patient with image control. System comprises a processor and memory functionally connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores a plurality of medical images, a plurality of adaptive filter models, a data collection protocol and computer-executable instructions which, when executed by the processor, instruct the processor to execute the method.
EFFECT: use of group of inventions allows fast and accurate localization of a movable three-dimensional target.
