FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermionic conversion of thermal energy to electric energy, namely, to thermionic converters, and can be used in onboard electric power sources for aircrafts with straight-flow air-jet engines. Summary of invention consists in fact that cathode sleeve of converter is arranged inside bellows unit and is equipped with external annular protrusion surrounding its bottom and screening bellow unit from heat source.

EFFECT: reduction of axial dimensions of converter, which allows to place it between walls of combustion chamber of engine.
