FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermionic conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy, specifically to thermionic transducers (TIT), which can be used in onboard electric power sources for high-speed aircrafts (HSA) with straight-flow air-jet engines (ramjet). In a thermionic converter, which includes a cathode made in the form of a metal cup, the bottom of which faces the heat source, and installed inside cathode sleeve coaxially to each other metal-ceramic dummy unit and anode forming interelectrode gap with cathode cup bottom, cathode bar is located with gap perpendicular to outer wall of rectangular combustion chamber of straight-flow air-jet engine. At the same time the bottom of the cathode cartridge on the outside is equipped with a coating with a high degree of blackness, the converter contains at least one spacer of the interelectrode gap and the bellows unit, and anode is equipped with heat conductor connected through layer of electrically insulating material with cooler-radiator, made in form of truncated conical pyramid, larger base of which facing the surrounding space, is limited by six or four side faces.
EFFECT: possibility of installing TIT on ramjet without complicating design of its combustion chamber, inclusion of onboard electric power source in structure of structure HSA, as well as simple experimental development of this source, high reliability and energy efficiency.
