FIELD: plastic processing.
SUBSTANCE: methods include formation of an array of prisms on the substrate of the original and formation of a replica of the original. Support edge is formed on the replica, thereby reducing the size of the prism array, but preserving the side dimension of the replica to maintain the simplicity (ease) of the replica processing. Replica is copied, and the support edge on the copied tiles is opened so that the support edge can be docked and attached face-to-face with the support edge on the other tiles to form a tile product. Article made from tiles is used as a mold for making retroreflective articles or can be additionally duplicated and docked to form items from larger tiles to be used as molds. Also disclosed are products from tiles used as molds and retroreflective articles made from molds.
EFFECT: invention relates to a method of making articles from tiles and molds used for making retroreflective articles.
