SUBSTANCE: invention relates to retroreflecting materials and, in particular, to production of retroreflective sheeting or film. Invention also relates to tool for forming retroreflective sheeting or film. Various geometries are described with respect to formation of retroreflective structures in polymer sheets or films. Said geometries provide removal of volatile gases which are otherwise captured between the embossing surface and the polymer sheet or film. Said geometries are included in processing belts or other surfaces forming pattern.
EFFECT: invention reduces probability of occurrence, and, in ideal case, elimination of captured volatile gases formation along prismatic film during its formation.
