FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a reactor for the synthesis of urea, having a vertical body and at least one internal perforated wall (3), the location of which ensures the formation of sections in the reactor. The specified partition contains a lattice of individual perforated tiles (10), of which each tile (101) has side walls (101A-101D) and a front surface (101F), moreover, at least one of the side walls has the first perforations, the front surface has the second perforations, the size of which is smaller than the size of the first perforations, and the tiles are distributed along the partition in the form of a two-dimensional matrix with gaps (17) between adjacent tiles. The first perforations form a preferred liquid phase flow path in the reactor, and the second perforations form a preferred vapor phase flow path. Also proposed is a method for the synthesis of urea from ammonia and carbon dioxide and a method for upgrading a vertical urea reactor.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the conversion yield in modern urea reactors and enhancing heat and mass transfer between the gas phase (vapor phase) and the liquid phase.
