FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radar equipment and can be used for onboard radar stations (ORS) inbuilt monitoring installed on aircrafts. In the "Control" mode after switching on the transmitter, converting microwave signals from the carrier frequency to an intermediate signal in the embedded control system, delaying and attenuating signals using the delay line, converting signals from intermediate frequency to carrier and feeding to input of receiver simultaneously with measurement of delay time of received signal, measuring power of microwave signals on carrier frequency at input of receiver and controlling transmitter power, reducing it to value, at which the microwave signal power at the input of the receiver at the carrier frequency will correspond to the power at which the permissible error of the range measurement is provided, obtaining obtained value of transmitter power and generating microwave signals at carrier frequency during ORS operation in operating mode with transmitter power value fixed in "Control" mode.
EFFECT: reduced emitted power of transmitter during ORS operation.
