FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical industry, in particular, it improves high-pressure discharge lamps for general and special purposes. High-pressure discharge lamp comprises burner of optically transparent material, filled with inert gas and vapors of at least one of metals, with tightly installed in each of ends electrode made in form of a spiral with a bent end as a rod having a cavity formed by a spiral, wherein the ratio of the diameter of the cavity of the electrode facing the discharge to the diameter of the cavity of the electrode facing the sealing zone of the burner is in the ratio of diameters of the cavity formed by spiral within 0.5≤d1/d2≤0.72, where: d1 is the diameter of the cavity of the electrode facing the discharge, mm; d2 is the diameter of the cavity of the electrode facing the burner sealing zone, mm. At that ratio of lamp current to spiral electrode length is made within 0.015≤Ilamp/l3≤0.017, and the ratio of lamp current to half the sum of the electrode cavity diameter, facing the discharge, and the electrode cavity diameter, facing the sealing sealing zone, is within 1.1≤Ilamp/((d1+d2)/2)3/2≤2.5, where: Ilamp is lamp current, A; l is electrode spiral length, mm.
EFFECT: increasing light flux, improving energy efficiency of lamps, as well as reducing light flux decay during operation and increasing service life of lamps owing to stability of parameters.
