FIELD: electrical engineering; manufacture of low-pressure discharge and fluorescent lamps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed electrode has single-spiral wire covered with emissive coating with effective part formed by inner surface of turns coiled into conical spiral whose inner space functions as electrode effective part. Ratio of effective part turn diameter to distance between them is 1.0 - 1.3. Electrode is attached through its diameter d1 to lamp terminal leads and at its diameter d2 faces lamp positive column plasma; diameters d1 and d2 are interrelated by set of equations given in invention specification. Right integrated cone axis is parallel to lamp discharge axis.
EFFECT: enhanced stability of light flux due to reducing in-service near-electrode darkening of lamp bulb.
