FIELD: vermiculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vermiculture. Method of breeding earthworms envisages the following. Container is filled with a substrate, earthworms placed into the reservoir in the form of a combination of species complexes; the reservoir is closed with a protective material with the possibility of moisture exchange and gas exchange, which prevents fauna penetration inside the reservoir. Closed container is installed in soil, repeating depth and structure of soil layers surrounding reservoir. Substrate used is a defaunaized soil, and the species complexes can include the following types of earthworms: Eisenia nordenskioldi, Aporrectodea caliginosa, Lumbricus rubellus. Material covering the vessel is represented by a sieve fabric. Inside the container the substrate is periodically weed. Container is filled with the substrate by layers, repeating the depth and structure of the soil layers surrounding the reservoir. Substrate humidity level of not less than 40 % is maintained in the vessel.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase number of earthworms.
