SUBSTANCE: method of selection of earthworms of the Lumbricidae family for the utilization of organic waste from livestock and crop production includes the following steps: preparation of a substrate for the production of vermicompost, and the preparation of the substrate for the production of vermicompost is started with pure peat, followed by the addition of organic agricultural waste, in increasing percentages of waste fractions, up to the complete exclusion of the primary substrate, the substrate is loaded into a vermicomposting device, into which worms of the family Lumbricidae: Dendrobaena Veneta and Lumbricus terrestris are placed, and kept with periodic aeration and moistening with water for 6–8 weeks at a temperature of 20-24°C and humidity of 70–75%. A mixture of animal and/or plant waste can be used as organic agricultural waste. Manure of horses, pigs, large and small livestock, rabbit droppings, and bird droppings can be used as waste of animal origin. A pile or a linear vermireactor can be used as a device for vermicomposting. To prevent excessive evaporation of moisture, the linear vermireactor can be additionally covered with straw. To maintain a humidity level of 70–75% in hot, rainless times, the substrate along with the covering straw can be watered regularly.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to quickly obtain a population with the necessary properties, adapted to the substrate for disposal, dispose of waste and additionally obtain an environmentally friendly complex fertilizer with a pre-predicted chemical composition.
