SUBSTANCE: method of applying a cap to a container includes arranging the first cap relative to the neck portion of the first container such that the threaded portion of the first cap faces the interacting threaded neck portion of the first container and so that axis of symmetry of first cap and axis of symmetry of neck part of first container are aligned. Further, the first cap is rotated about its axis of symmetry to the previously recorded initial angular position. By moving the cap to the threaded neck portion or vice versa, the first cap is applied on the neck portion along their symmetry axes by rotating the first cap in the engagement direction with the threaded neck portion. Track length of the first cap is recorded relative to its initial angular position, after which it is fully engaged with the interacting threaded neck portion and reaches the lower part of the neck portion. In case of deviation of the registered length of the first cap path from the limit value of the path length, the relative angular position of the second cap relative to the initial angular position is changed to a new relative angular position.

EFFECT: invention provides accurate reliable application and closing of the cap.
