SUBSTANCE: present invention generally relates to toner compositions and methods and more specifically to economical toners consisting of one amorphous polyester resin, crystalline polyester, dye, optional wax and optional additives, and said amorphous polyester resin is obtained by catalytic polymerisation of monomers, for example carboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid, benzene tricarboxylic acid, at least one bisphenol and a component selected from a group consisting of at least one of dodecyl succinic anhydride and dodecyl succinic acid, and wherein said amorphous polyester resin contains less than about 16 wt. % dodecyl succinic anhydride. Disclosed toner composition consists of a core of a first amorphous polyester resin, a second crystalline polyester, a wax and a coloring agent, and at least one shell surrounding said core, which consists of said first amorphous polyester resin and wax, wherein said first amorphous polyester resin is obtained by polycondensation of organic diol, an organic dibasic acid, a polycondensation catalyst and dodecyl succinic anhydride present in an amount of about 9.5 to about 12.8 wt. %, or dodecyl succinic acid present in an amount of about 9.5 to about 12.8 wt. %, whereby terpoli(propoxylated bisphenol A co-dodecylsuccinate)-terpoly(propoxylated bisphenol A co-terephthalate)-terpoly-(propoxylated bisphenol A co-dodecylsuccinate) are obtained, terpoly-(propoxylated bisphenol A terephthalate)-terpoly-(propoxylated bisphenol A-dodecenylsuccinate)-terpoly-(propoxylated bisphenol A fumarate)-(propoxylated bisphenol A-trimellitat), or terpoli (propoxylated bisphenol A-terephthalate)-terpoly(propoxylated bisphenol A-dodecenylsuccinate)-terpoly (propoxylated bisphenol A fumarate), and wherein said crystalline polyester resin is selected from a group consisting of poly(1,6-hexylene-1,12-dodecanoate), poly(1,9-nonylene-succinate) and poly(1,6-hexylene-succinate).
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing toners with equally small size of particles, for example with average diameter of about 1 to about 15 mcm, since such particles have a suitable energy-saving shape, have a narrow geometric standard deviation of particles on size, and such toners have different core structures and shell.
