FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises feeding pulses into a conductive frame around a detection region. Method includes obtaining a sample of electromagnetic damped response to pulse. Sampling of the decaying response is cross-correlated with a pre-constructed basic function simulating effects from the introduction of conductive objects in the detection region to obtain a correlated output signal. Correlated output signal is analysed for peak values to obtain indication of presence or absence of electroconductive objects within the detection area.
EFFECT: invention relates to detection of electroconductive objects, such as foreign metal, enclosed in a portion of mineral ore/soil cargo within the area of detection of receiving container for excavation.
