SUBSTANCE: group of invention refers to pharmaceutical industry, namely to a method for preparing an agent for treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease. Method of producing an agent for treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease, wherein said agent contains an earthworm extract extracted with water or aqueous ethanol, and/or dry powder of said extract, wherein said method comprises the following steps of preparing the extract: bringing live worm earthworm into contact with a chloride of at least one metal selected from a group consisting of potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium; further bringing live worm into contact with powdered form of hydroxycarboxylic acid, diluted with water to bring pH from 2 to 5, and maintaining the obtained dilution for 3 to 180 minutes, or immersing and holding the live earthworm for 3 to 180 minutes in an aqueous solution of hydroxycarboxylic acid, having a pH value of from 2 to 5, washing the living earthworm with water, grinding the live earthworm and then lyophilisation of the obtained milled product; heating the lyophilized ground product at temperature of 110 °C or higher but lower than 130 °C, and dissolving said thermally treated product in water or in aqueous ethanol solution with ethanol concentration of 70 % or lower and then removing or separating insoluble fractions, where earthworm is red earthworm Lumbricus rubellus. Agent for treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease. Earthworm extract for stimulating catecholamine production. Use of an earthworm extract for treating Alzheimer's disease. EFFECT: above described solutions enable prevention and treatment of diseases caused by catecholamine deficiency.
