SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method of producing an edible composition. Disclosed is a chewing gum edible composition production method, involving: providing, in the mixer, particles of an encapsulating ingredient, such as a polymer or resin, with an average largest size of less than 700 microns; providing in said mixer particles of an active ingredient, such as a sweetener, or food acid, or a flavoring agent, with average largest size of less than 700 micron and forming a composition of said encapsulating ingredient and said active ingredient by mixing particles of the encapsulating ingredient and particles of the active ingredient and melting the particles of the encapsulating ingredient. Also disclosed is a chewing gum edible composition production method, involving: providing, in the mixer, particles of an encapsulating ingredient, such as a polymer and a resin; providing in said mixer particles of an active ingredient, such as a sweetener, or food acid, or a flavoring agent, and forming a composition of said encapsulating ingredient and said active ingredient; where the ratio of the average largest particle size of the encapsulating agent to the average largest particle size of the active ingredient is less than 20:1 by mixing particles of the encapsulating ingredient and particles of the active ingredient and melting the particles of the encapsulating ingredient.

EFFECT: invention ensures manufacture of compositions for use in chewing gum.
