FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, and can be used for surgical treatment of median nerve neuropathy in the carpal tunnel. Skin, subcutaneous fat, a superficial fascia in a radiocarpal region in a projection of a median nerve are incised. Tendon of the long palmar muscle is removed laterally, and the median nerve is separated. Defect of carpal ligament is formed. For this purpose, in the projection of the median nerve, the carpal ligament is excised until complete visualization of the median nerve trunk from the ulnar and radial sides. Quadrangular fragment is cut from the subcutaneous fat, the shape of which is congruent with the specific features of the configuration of the carpal ligament defect, and the dimensions of each of its sides are 1.5–2 mm larger than the linear dimensions of the corresponding sides of the defect of the carpal ligament. Suspension of preparation Kenalog 40 is infiltrated with a fragment of subcutaneous fat, laid on a median nerve wall, completely covering the defect of the carpal ligament, after which the wound is sutured.

EFFECT: method provides higher effectiveness of surgical treatment of median nerve neuropathy and prevents the possibility of recurrence of the disease by forming a defect of the carpal ligament and its overlapping with a fragment of subcutaneous fat.
