FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for prediction of unfavorable course of uveal melanoma related to tumor microenvironment. A pathological examination of the enucleated tumor microenvironment is performed in the patient with the UM. If observing mast cells, fibroblasts, suppressor cells of myeloid origin in the number of at least 6 cells of each type and presence of tumor cells in the lumen of at least one scleral emissary, unfavorable course of uveal melanoma is predicted.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides higher accuracy of determining the severity of uveal melanoma for the selection of further adequate management and treatment strategies.
