FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to special-electrometallurgy, particularly, to crystallizers for electroslag furnaces (ESR). Crystallizer consists of water-cooled sections arranged in bearing platform. Sections of different diameter can be mounted in one assembly. Each platform attachment assembly to electroslag furnace work platform is made in the form of hinge. Sections are made with possibility of their mutual replacement. Sections are arranged between each other along conical surface. Each section is made in form of all-welded structure from external cooling jacket and inner mold and is equipped with one or several compensators of thermal longitudinal extension of section, as well as sensors for control of heat loss power. Outer surface of mold is made in form of developed surface.
EFFECT: invention allows reducing mechanical loads on crystallizer elements and costs for making separate components for different crystallizers, as well as unifying the attachment assembly on the ESR furnace, increasing service life of the crystallizer and strength of sections owing to use of a flexible thermal expansion compensator.
