FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to special electrometallurgy, particularly to electroslag casting of cooling tray of the metallurgical furnace. Method involves making a workpiece of the tray by electroslag remelting of copper electrode at a temperature of 1,200-1,350 °C in uncooled steel crystallizer, inner sizes of which correspond to dimensions and shape of the tray, workpiece is obtained in the form of bimetallic casting with steel coating on two mutually parallel surfaces of larger size and on three surfaces of smaller size, then steel coating is removed from one of the parallel surfaces of larger size of said casting to obtain copper horizontal surface of the working part of the tray for placement the furnace inside it, and on the opposite horizontal surface with steel coating used as outer part of the tray, grooves forming a channel for cooling liquid are milled, then the external part of the tray is covered with a steel sheet, then the steel sheet is welded along the generatrix sheet edge.
EFFECT: invention allows creating a reliable and efficient cooled tray of the metallurgical furnace.
