FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a crane with boom (3), comprising gripper (9), a crane overload protection device, a monitoring device for monitoring the operation of the overload protection device, determination means for determination of retaining boom and/or tension force induced in jig. By means of monitoring device, in online mode during operation crane is determined from specified force (FN) tension moment (FN x IN) of tension, from recognized outreach (IG + S) and recognized load (FG + S) determining moment (FG + S x IG + S) of cargo. At auxiliary attraction of data written into memory of crane, determining structural moment (FA x IA). Sum of the moment of the load and the structural moment is compared with the moment of tension and then, if the deviation of the tension from the given sum of the moment of the load and the structural moment exceeds the tolerance threshold, an error signal and/or an interruption signal are output. Also disclosed is a method of monitoring operation of the device for protection against overload of the crane.
EFFECT: accurate and reliable control over overload protection device operation.
